Our Housing Programs
Housing for Veterans
BUSU provides safe, stable shared housing for homeless veteran men and women in Detroit. Residents have an opportunity to regain stability, build independence, and move forward in a respectful and supportive living environment.

Recovery Transitional Housing
BUSU provides safe, stable shared housing for individuals who are homeless and moving forward after completing a recovery program. Our supportive living environment encourages accountability, continued growth, independence, and a successful transition to long-term stability.
Community
Connections
Community engagement is at the core of our work. We collaborate with local residents, organizations, and agencies to connect residents with resources and create stronger pathways to stability and independence.

Support Services
We provide practical support that helps residents build
stability and independence:

• Shopping trips and transportation to meetings and appointments
• Clothing and professional attire for job interviews
• Bedding, hygiene supplies, and first-month groceries
• Meal-preparation support
• A prepaid phone and bus pass
• Help with MDHHS benefit applications
Weekly in-home recovery meetings are also available.
Through our nonprofit partnership, every resident receives practical resources designed to support stability, independence, and a successful fresh start.
